After celebrating at the summit, you descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100m). This long day takes 12–14 hours in total.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

The final descent is through lush rainforest. The trail is gentle but can be slippery. After 3–4 hours of hiking, you reach Mweka Gate (1,640m), where you receive your summit certificate. A vehicle will take you back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha for a hot shower and rest.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

This crucial acclimatization day leads you up to Lava Tower at 4,630m. After a short rest at the tower, you descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m), located in a scenic valley below the Breach Wall. You’ll spend 6–7 hours hiking in total, with changing landscapes from alpine desert to lush valley.
